Erasmus programme

A o wrażeniach Katariny z pobytu w Krakowie możesz przeczytać tutaj.

In summer 2015, I was searching on the Internet for information about Erasmus programme. Most of my friends have been abroad for one semester. This was one of the reasons why I decided to apply to this programme. As I graduated, I could apply only for a traineeship. Searching for institutions is not very easy. Firstly, you have to think what you want to do and where you want to go and that takes time. So, why I choosed Poland and Slavia? Let’s see…

At the beginning of the process, I decided to go to Poland. After that I chose a city – Cracow. I heard that Cracow is a really student city and that is why I chose it. After choosing the country, the second point is to find an institution. I have some friends in Warsaw who I met in Zagreb (they were doing their Erasmus in Zagreb), so I wrote to them if they would like to help me in searching Polish websites. I graduated from Croatian language and literature so it is a litlle bit hard to find a traineeship with that language abroad. I started with schools which have Croatian language for foreigners. In Croatia at the Faculty of Philosophy we have Croaticum. To Croaticum go people who want to learn Croatian language. As a student, I had an internship there, for one week. At that internship I realised that I want to teach Croatian for foreigners. At the end, I found Slavia and I applied. And in this way I have started my internship on 1st of February 2016.

It is complicated to go abroad. There are some issues that you have to do before. Documents which you have to fill up, everydaygoing to your cordinators to Faculty etc. The most important thing – find a place to live. Signing an agreement with an owner of the school who is aceepted you for the traineeship could make you feel nervous at that time when you will wait for the decision. But at the end of the process you could feel proud of yourself because you have done everything properly and the most important thing – alone!

What I could say to every person who is thinking about Erasmus programme? In my opinion it is worth trying it!  As I said, it is not so easy, especially when you have to deal with documents which are necessary. However, opportunity to get to know people from all over the world, meet new cultures and languages, the travel will compensate you everything. It is a great opportunity to get such an experiance after graduating.

Zašto sam odlučila doći u Poljsku i u Slaviu? Pogledajmo…
