When you are going abroad you have plans, imagination in your head and pictures on the Internet… but the only thing for real that you have is a ticket to go there!

On 1st of February I came to Cracow. I chose to live in the University campus because I wanted to live with people who are in my age and also the main reason was to meet people. I did not expect to live with a Polish girl because I am on the Erasmus programme. However, I am very glad to live with her because I learned from her very much.

My first impression about Cracow was – very cold weather! At the and I am used to it. Now it is spring here so it is better than in February. After that, I heard that Cracow is also known as ”Magic Cracow” and that is absolutely true. Every time when I go to the main square I am fascinated about that huge square which is also the biggest square in Europe! This city has a soul, it is mixed beetwen ”old city” and ”Jewish quarter”. Cracow is a city which I definetely recommend!

My impressions about traineeship in Slavia are amazing. People who are going to learn Croatian language in Slavia are very ambitious and they really want to learn this language. When I taught them it seemed easy for me because that people love Croatia and that language. My only problem in the school was that I do not know Polish language and I could  not translate Croatian words to Polish but luckily to me my mentor was on my classes and I could relay on her. When I had to prepare lessons my mentor always told me what is good and what is wrong so I am very grateful to her.

There are three groups in school now with A1, A2 and B1 level. Groups are not big and that makes it easy to work with them. I am native speaker from Croatia so I could answer for every questions from participants about life in Croatia, culture in Croatia, people, language and current situation.

This practise was a big experiance. I had an opportunity to verify my qualifications as a teacher. Advantages of this practise in Poland is that I got a job this summer in Zadar where I will teach foreigners Croatian language at ”Summer school of Croatian language”.

Kada idete u inozemstvo, imate puno planova.

Ti ljudi vole Hrvatsku i hrvatski jezik.
